We want to keep the price of the game as low as possible. There is a FREE Tier which allows you to do most things in the game. The main Tier is a simple monthly subscription of $5 per month, or $50 per year for annual subscriptions ($10 discount). There are no other fees or costs. We do not want the game to "nickel and dime" our players.  We do not want the game to be "pay to win".  We do not want real-world currency to influence the game.

The FREE Tier allows you to do most of the things in the game. The main limitation of the free Tier is that you cannot use the automation features to direct your characters while you are away from the game. You cannot send or receive money or goods from any other unrelated player. You are not able to make private trades, although you can buy and sell on the public markets and auctions. If you are a member of a family you can receive small grants and some gifts such as birthday& Christmas presents, graduation presents. These presents cannot be sold or even given away.

The "skilling system" in the game is unique in the gaming world.  You can learn new skills, and given time get some advantages from them, but you can also lose abilities through lack of use.  Age is a major determiner of skills, so young people start weak, can grow strong with good food and regular exercise, and then naturally become weaker as they age.A sedentary lifestyle may build intelligence and some work skills, but also leads to muscle wasting making you weaker and often overweight.  An active lifestyle may build your strength and physical stamina, but it does nothing for your intelligence and in the longer term your wisdom.  Younger people can gain significant intelligence, but as you get older intelligence declines gradually and is turned into wisdom.  Getting the balance right is a major challenge of the game!

A family account is a special subscription that allows up to 5 related players to play the game. The monthly subscription of a family account is $10. It permits two adult players and three child players (although children grow up and can use the account as long as they live in the same house!).The players are assigned characters in the same family. So if on day one 5 people wanted to play, two of them would be assigned as the parents (and would be considered as a partnership. The other players would begin as babies in the family. When a player moves out of the family home, they leave the family subscription and either need their own subscription or the revert to the FREE Tier
